David Tennant’s American accent.



I mean, it’s not bad.  A little bit off (the E’s, I’s, and R’s trip him up), but definitely passable.  And he still sounds hot.
But it doesn’t even sound like his voice is under there.  At all.
He sounds like… I don’t know… Jason Stiles from Gilmore Girls.
Which is WEIRD.

I have an obsession with accents.  I like my own - the classic southern-New-England “accentless” American accent, regularly interrupted by New York vowels.  And I am absolutely FASCINATED by other people trying to do accents which aren’t their natural ones.  Hours of my life have been wasted on YouTube this way.

But you take someone like David Tennant, whose natural Scottish accent is so motherfrakking beautiful, and who so often appears in TV and films with various English accents, and you put him into an American one, and well.  It’s bizarre.  Great and terrible, and bizarre.  I kind of love it.  But only for a quick visit.
